Medication Management

Treatment with specialty medications can feel complicated. Our clinic supports you with education, counseling and medication managment from experienced pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

We offer virtual and in-person visits for patients who need complex specialty medications for bone health, endocrinology, rheumatology and weight management.

For some injectable treatments, pharmacists will meet with you in person to administer medication and provide counseling, education and monitoring of lab results.

Medications we manage include GLP-1 weight loss drugs, as well as Evenity and Prolia, which are used to treat osteoporosis.

Your visit may include the following services:

• Evaluating your medications and checking possible interactions with other medications
• Determining the optimal dose and adjusting it if necessary
• Instructions on how to take each medication, including timing and whether to take it with food
• Review of any side effects and how to possibly reduce them
• Strategies for improving the quality of life while on your medication

Referrals Required

This clinic only serves patients with a referral from a physician in UC San Diego Health's Endocrinology or Weight Management specialty care areas.
